Let Your Voices Be Heard

In light of the upcoming 2010 Delaware general election, Delaware AAUW plans to use its Impact Grant to raise candidate awareness about the mission, members, and initiatives of AAUW. Delaware AAUW will maintain a statewide presence at election forums, town meetings, and events, where they will publicly ask candidates mission-related questions and inform them of AAUW’s public policy efforts.

Delaware AAUW also plans to initiate actions to promote increased availability and access to early childhood education and STEM education, topics of particular importance to the state. Delaware AAUW hopes that heightened attention to political issues will encourage non-active members to take part in public policy activities, and believes that their plans will enhance the presence of the state Lobby Corps, established through an Impact Grant last year.
